The U.S. now ranks not first, not second, not third, but 12th among developed nations in terms of business startup activity. (Countries such as Hungary, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden, Israel and Italy all have higher startup rates than America does.)

Average Age of Small Business Owners...Owners of small businesses are also not that young: 51% of owners of small businesses are 50-88 years old, 33% are 35-49 and only 16% are 35 years old and under.

Average Age Of New Start Up Owners...A recent Kauffman Foundation report revealed that the average age of a first-time founder in the U.S. is 39 years old. We often hear about millennials starting technology companies or college dropouts building mobile apps. The truth is that individuals start companies at all points during their careers.
